Louis C. Sanfilippo, M.D.,
is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department
of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine
and is in private practice in New Haven, Connecticut.
He completed his psychiatric training at Yale’s Psychiatry Residency Training Program, his medical degree at New York University School
of Medicine, and his undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Virginia.
Dr. Sanfilippo supervises Yale
Psychiatry residents and co-lectures a course on
Psychopharmacology. His primary clinical interest
is in the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD,
and eating disorders in adults, college students,
and athletes. Dr. Sanfilippo has published on a
range of topics, including the psychiatric treatment
of young adults, mood disorders and suicide, forensic
and ethical issues in psychiatry, and the philosophy
of mind. He has also published review books in
Psychiatry for medical school students. Dr. Sanfilippo
has presented on sports psychiatric issues and
consulted to Yale University’s Department of
Athletics.
For Cenestra Health, Dr. Sanfilippo
serves in management and scientific advisory roles.
As a healthcare consultant, Dr. Sanfilippo has
worked with financial organizations and pharmaceutical
companies to evaluate drug development platforms
for a range of psychiatric disorders. He is involved
with pharmaceutical development and consulting
through the LCS Group, LLC, where he is a principal,
and has previously served as a member of the Gerson
Lehrman Group’s Healthcare Council, where he helped
investment professionals conduct due diligence, presented on psychiatric topics, and contributed regularly to
their News Analysis program.
